- Congressional Record of the 107th Congress, Second Session, 2002 Senator Edward M. Kennedy, (D) Massachusetts made a tribute to the graduates of the BDBF technology programs.
- John Hancock/Boston Management Consortium Innovations in Education Award for the "Kids Compute 2001" program. For creatively applying new skills to bring state-of-the-art technology into classrooms throughout Boston, providing enhanced educational opportunities for City of Boston youth.
- National League of Cities Innovation Award for Community Connections for the "Kids Compute 2001" program. National competition for technology innovations at the city and county level.
- US Conference of Mayor's 1999 Public Private/Partnership Award for the "Kids Compute 2001" program This award was for BDBF's partnership with 3Com. The program has been used as a model for distributing equipment to 40 other cities throughout the country by 3Com and the US Conference of Mayors.
- Computerworld Smithsonian Award 1999 to the City of Boston in recognition of visionary use of information technology in the field of government and non-profit organizations.
